For Educators

The Institute for Middle East Studies (IMES) at the George Washington University provides K-12 teachers and community college faculty access to scholars, classroom resources, and workshops.  Our goal is to increase literacy on this important region by providing interdisciplinary perspectives that help teachers and students move beyond the headlines.

What We Offer

Access to Scholars

Are you a K-12 teacher or community college faculty member looking for curricular resources? Do you need a scholar to talk to your class about current events?  Let us know.  We can connect you to our faculty in a variety of ways, including opportunities for Skype or in-person visits to your classroom.

Interdisciplinary Teaching Resources on the Middle East

IMES maintains a variety of teaching resources, including lesson plans and film guides.  Our resource lending library of books, periodicals, and films are available to K-12 teachers and community college faculty.
