Arabic Calligraphy Workshop
Join us for this hands-on workshop on Arabic calligraphy led by master calligrapher Josh Berer. Calligraphy materials (pen, ink, paper) will be provided. Supplies are limited to the first 30 attendees. Please note that this event is only open to current GW students.

Josh Berer is a classically-trained calligrapher and craftsman based in Washington, DC. He received his ijazah [master calligrapher's certification] in the Thuluth and Naskh scripts from Mohamed Zakariya, and is currently a student of Talik script. He is also versed in the arts of papermaking, marbling, illumination, bookbinding, and woodworking. He speaks Arabic, Persian, and Turkish, in descending order of confidence.
