Global Perspectives on Children and Youth Literature: A Workshop for Teachers

 –

Institute For Middle East Studies

This professional development workshop on literature for children and youth will be the fourth annual gathering of its kind. Join us as we explore selected award-winning fiction and non-fiction for elementary, middle and high school levels on Africa and the Middle East. Enjoy hearing from an author and specialists on the use of literary works in teaching, select some books for your classroom, and participate in hands-on activities and get lesson plans that will inspire your own creativity as well.

The workshop is an outreach collaboration of Howard University’s Center for African Studies and School of Education, the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University, and the Institute for Middle East Studies at George Washington University, which are funded as National Resource Centers under a Department of Education Title VI grant, which makes this workshop possible.
