Student-Centered Activities in the Arabic Classroom

How can you facilitate student-centered learning in your classroom? In this hands-on workshop, the presenter will model novice and intermediate-level activities that place students front and center. Activities focus on some of the main characteristics of the student-centered approach such as task and inquiry based learning, student choice, presentation of content in multiple ways, re-using content, and collaborative learning.

Rana Abdul-Aziz is the Arabic Language Coordinator and a senior lecturer at Tufts University where she has taught for over 14 years. She has previously taught at Wellesley College and Middlebury College's summer intensive Arabic School. She is a co-authors of the forthcoming textbook: Jusuur I: Beginning Arabic to be published in 2021 by Georgetown University Press.
