The Institute for Middle East Studies is delighted to announce that the Department of Education has awarded us the Title VI Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) and National Resource Center (NRC) awards for Middle East Studies from 2022-26. The FLAS funding provides significant support for undergraduate and graduate students studying modern Middle Eastern languages and area studies. The NRC funding greatly enhances the institutes’ outreach portfolio and ability to engage K-14 educators, minority serving institutions and the broader public community on important regional issues.
