IMES Visiting Scholar: Graham Auman Pitts
Graham Auman Pitts teaches history and international studies at the University of Mississippi. His research focuses on the environmental history of war, food, and famine in the modern Middle East and the globe. He is working on the environmental history of the Middle East with a special focus on famine and food in Lebanon. Building on the edited volume Making Levantine Cuisine (2021), his current manuscript considers the famine that afflicted Lebanon during World War I. Other threads of his research concern the history of disease in Lebanon’s refugee camps and Lebanese wine production.
