From Morocco to Dubai: Engagement and Immersion with Virtual Reality

 –
Webinar
Virtual Reality Workshop

Explore the benefits of learning Arabic through Virtual Reality with Mimi Melkonian of the Brunswick School. Drawing on the original work of Harvard University Professor Nicole Mills, this presentation will demonstrate how instructors can lead students through virtual visits to far-away cities using inexpensive and readily available technologies. By enabling students to encounter daily life in a Middle Eastern city, virtual reality provides a learning experience with important social and cultural benefits. Sample speaking, listening, reading, and writing assessment tasks in Arabic will be showcased and discussed.

Session recording available here.
